Global Outreach
In 2012, the island nation of Japan was rocked by earthquakes and the northern end was hit by a devastating 25ft tsunami. Entire communities lost their homes and were displaced from their families. Carolyn, along with 11 other members of Gateway Church, traveled to Sendai, Japan to help with the reconstruction. Homes drowned in water now were permeated with mold. Homes had to be stripped down to their studs and new dry wall and flooring had to be laid. The team's effort allowed several families to move back into their homes after being separated for many months.

WSPA / ASPCA
Carolyn has an immense love for animals. She actively supports the tireless efforts of both the ASPCA and the WSPA. The ASPCA is based in the USA and is doing great work in combating animal cruelty and helping provide animals with basic humane conditions and treatment. They rescue many animals caught in natural disasters as well as from hoarders, puppy mills, and dog fighting rings. The WSPA is an international organization with a number of animal protection programs. They provide sustainable businesses to bear owners to rescue bears from the horrible sport of bear dancing. Their “collars not cruelty” program has helped save millions of dogs from needless slaughter, through education on rabies vaccinations. WSPA helps working equines to marine animals. ASPCA and WSPA are dedicated to promoting compassion and respect through animal welfare education.
